What happened to the CD Clubs?!

day before yesterday shopping with the girlfriend. We went into a store that has a small chain around these here parts. It's called half price books.
Ultimately awesome collection of books, and as the name of the store states. Fairly great prices on books! (was able to get my hands on a copy of zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance for $3). So as the girlfriend is shopping around for some good Walt Whitman books for a presentation she is giving for her class (college, no pedobear action needed here!) and as i'm browsing around the rare books selection, i stumble upon a nice size rack of CDs! most of the albums are $6-7 or so a piece. Browsing through them, i see a few i kinda would have enjoyed, however did not wanna spend that much money on a CD i may rarely listen to (we live in the digital age where i can get ahold of anything way to easy if i wanna listen to something on a rare occasion.. and "legally"!) . As my girlfriend comes over to see what i'm doing, she kneels down and checks out the other part of the rack and i didn't and probably would have never noticed... however is one of the greatest discoveries in the Natti! the $3 and under section! holding back the urge to squeel like a girl/child/manbearpig. I Jump onto my knees and start searching. Immediately finding a copy of cherry poppin daddies and alien ant farm for $2 each... Then coming across the ultimate buy for $3. CIN : INXS-KICK Amazing? Quite so my dear watson! quite so...
However, having the "old school" thrill of popping that CD case open and putting it into a CD player will never, ever, EVER get old. This morning i started plowing through the interwebs to find a CD CLUB service (BMG and columbia house anyone?). However, depressingly i came across a company that had bought BMG out YOURmusic. now the CDs are all $6.99 (good deal however) but, no more CD club! or clubs for that matter! SAD! What am i supposed to do now? srsly? but CDs like a normal person? i shudder at the thought... Bittorrent music and have the fear that little FBI midgets are going to jump out of the CD drive of my PC and flash badges of the music federation of Lars Ulrich? all i want is cheap music, people!

Top Gear!

Here is a show i love to death. Leave it to the brittish to make 2 great TV shows for automotive enthusiasts that deal with american muscle cars, European cars and everything all around. All the while making great and hilarious competitions for each other.
Take the Vietnam episode for example. They got a TON of Vietnamese cash and said they had buy some "wheels" and get themselves 1000 miles up the coast of Vietnam and get to the finish line as a group. Why would i put the "wheels" in quotations you ask? because they did not start importing vehicles untill the late 1990s/early 2000's. So long story short, the value of the
automotive industry has not depreciated to a good enough standard for their BOT to buy anything at all that is considered a CAR. So! they bought motorcycles, and one of the hosts has never ridden a motorcycle before. I Wont spoil anything anymore, Especially the end! so i'll link to the episode

Exciting funness!

so in my searchings for greatness across this new fangled WORLD WIDE WEB! it's just like... i use this tiny typewriter that is connected to a TV. I put questions into this thing called google. For the most part i get all the answers i need! Even the ones i didn't ask for, that for some reason are always on my mind (enter a visual of random 1/2 naked people dancing around a fire singing a tribal version of chakakahn... when searching for FSB of an older processor...) anyways! SO! My girlfriend was watching some anthony bourdain shows and came across one about voodoo doughnuts... SO that got me thinking about posting videos about.. dun dun dun. TODAYS SUBJECT! which is. portland.

PDX : Anthony Bourdain visits Voodoo Doughnuts

PDX : Ice storm descends upon Portland Oregon

PDX : Jay Leno visits the church of Elvis

PDX : A Tour of Powell's books

More findings in boredom land

SO! in my searchings today while missful of my old state. I Decided to search for webcams in the portland oregon area. lookie in my google findings found?!
http://207.224.31.229/local/popup.html
You get to control the seaside aquarium web camera for 2 minutes at a time, it's a live stream... I was following a lady across the boardwalk... just imagine looking up at the top of a building to see a camera following you.. big brother is watching! or maybe just your "normal" nerdlygeek pretending to think of you naked while sitting in a cubicle.. err... damn, can't take that back now.

Here is one from the famous city that is only known because of a movie about children searching for a pirate ship... kinda depressing really if your town is known for having kids be bored enough and out of their whits enough that they search for a pirate ship... that is hiding in a large cave. with built in water slides! okay, whatever, Goonies was badass.

Best part about this webcam, If you look over to the left and zoom in, you can see inside some unknowing (and i'm fairly sure) unwilling persons house. Don't ask how i know or why i looked that deep into the webcam.

Anyways! here is a complete listing of the webcams that i did find. or else i'll be blabbering on and on (hence the name of the blog! nyuk nyuk)

First official post!

WOW! time flies when you are having (no) fun! right? ...right? .... okay, that is a bunch of horse manure...

So as i'm "working" doing all my technical support goodies and fixing computers. My mind starts wondering off into eventual madness! So to slow my brain down a bit and keep my mind in order, i either browse the news, get a little upset about the economy, peoples wrongdoings, Etc. OR! i put on music or talk shows. Quite often this helps and keeps my mind going into one place.

A Radio station that frequently finds itself plugged into my noggin is 105.1 the buzz from my old home town back in portland

And honestly, Everytime i do turn this radio station on, I Get extremely missful of what i once called my home town! except for the cheesy internet radio commercials, It is a fun radio station, besides the occasional bad song choices on there. It is weird how voices of someone in your past can make someone think differently about their lives, when infact they are not saying anything to you specifically... Strange thoughts from a strange being.. right? i know.

SO! to get more randomness going, here are some pics of my old home town. ENJOY!

SO! now that that overly saddenning remencing is over with. I Shal get back to my "technical support job"

Thought i would start a boredom blog

Well fellow readers.
I Thought i would start a "RANDOM" Journal. Random thoughts, Finds, Photography, Etc.
SO! Needless to say, since it is a "RANDOM!" Blogging site, it will, infact... Be random! har har har.
SO! Welcome! i hope some readers will find this entertaining as i will while i write sweet nothings into the internets!
